Hi, my name is Will, and I am a driven, determined, and dependable Software Developer based in Knoxville, TN.

After working in food service, customer service, and banking for years, I decided to go back to school, and I graduated from Turing School of Software and Design's Front-End Engineering program in January 2023.

I love to create things, so during Covid lockdown, I learned to hand-bind journals and started learning leatherworking. Being able to create something fun is what lead me to decide to learn coding. I like being able to design something from the ground up, and then see it in action!

I believe you should treat everyone with kindness and respect, and this is the energy I bring to any team I'm a part of. I have a passion for technology and learning, and I would love to connect with like-minded people.

Omnifood

I love responsive design, so after making my portfolio responsive, I decided that I wanted to learn more about it. I built Omnifood to be fully responsive, and practice design principles.

Simple Note App

I wanted to learn to use Material-UI, so I built a simple note app. This app uses a local server to store data.

NYT Reader

Application that uses the NYT Top Stories API to load a list of articles with a brief description, image, and link to the story on the NYT website. Users can sort articles alphabetically, or reverse alphabetically.

Equilibrium

A group project from my time at Turing. Equilibrium allows users to find a therapist that can help with their specific needs. This project used GraphQL, and was tested with Cypress.

Vocabulary Extender

This app allows you to search the BigHugeThesaurus API for a word, viewing synonyms and antonyms. You can save the card to a separate page of saved cards, or remove it from the list. After navigating to the saved list, you are able to unsave a card.

A&W Movie Time

Paired project from my time at Turing. This app uses theMovieDatabase's API to load 60 top movies. Users are able to search for a movie by title. Clicking on the movie allows you to see details about that film, as well as view any available trailers.
